God’s Grace in Bloom | April 16th, 2022

I am so enjoying my walks lately as spring is coming into full bloom more and more every day! I snapped some photos of the vibrant flowers I spotted recently and it wasn’t until later that I realized how beautifully their colors represent the Easter story…

Red: Represents BLOOD

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, shed his blood on the cross to atone for our sin. Through His grace, He made a way for us to be forgiven by giving His life to pay the penalty (death) for our sin because of His deep love for us. What a gift!

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. Ephesians 1:7-8a

White: Represents PURITY

My first gardenia bloom in my garden – so perfect! Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect, sinless life, did not stay dead. Three days later, he rose from the grave, our reason for celebrating Easter! His resurrection was a promise for all those who put their faith and trust in Him as their Savior that just as death was not the end for Jesus, neither is it the end for us. We can enter into heaven to be in His presence because through Him we have been made righteous – pure and clean without blemish in His sight!

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Purple: Represents ROYALTY

The moment you ask Jesus Christ to come into your life to be your Savior you instantly become royalty! You are adopted as a child of the King, welcomed into the royal family of God. What an inheritance we have in eternity! He tells us in His Word that He is preparing our beautiful, forever Home where there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain. I can’t wait!

He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins. Colossians 1:12b-14

Yellow: Represents LIGHT

As the Light of the world, Jesus is the exclusive source of spiritual light to keep us from continuing to walk in sin and darkness. He is the only Way, the Truth and the Life – there is no other! Just as the moon has no light of its own, reflecting the light of the sun, so we who believe in Him reflect His light as we honor Him in the way we live.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, He has given us everything we need to shine bright…unconditional love, radiant joy, perfect peace, a clean heart, and our blessed hope of eternal life!
